The Story Behind Squirrel Buster
Founded in 1998 in Knowlton, Quebec, Brome Bird Care set out to solve backyard birding’s oldest headache: squirrels raiding the seed. Founder Paul Cote developed a weight-sensitive mechanism now sold as Squirrel Buster.
The patented shroud technology closes feeding ports under a squirrel’s weight while leaving access open for lighter songbirds, a design later protected across more than 30 countries.
